Young Life requires all employees to sign a Statement of Faith. Applicants must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord, subscribe to Young Life’s statements and policies, and commit to fulfilling ministry functions both during and outside working hours.
Ministry Functions
- Spiritual Development
- Develop a yearly personal growth plan fostering a vibrant spiritual life, including solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer, and study of God’s Word.
- Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines within an active church community.
- Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
- Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
- Leadership Development
- Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership.
- Recruit and train new leaders to build a diverse and effective leadership team.
- Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
- Attend and engage in area leadership as assigned.
- Resource Development
- Raise financial support as directed and maintain strong donor care practices.
- Communicate ministry updates and progress to personal donor partners.
- Assist with camp fundraisers and attend occasional committee and adult functions.
- Direct Ministry
- Engage in all three levels of contact work.
- Lead or participate in a team to conduct Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry.
- Implement a summer and school-season camping strategy.
- Potentially serve on summer staff or at a Young Life property under the direction of the area director.
- Ministry Support
- Adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures, maintaining professionalism in office hours, dress, conduct, and time management.
- Set yearly ministry and personal goals; review them regularly.
- Assist with office administration as needed.
- Complete expense reports clearly and on time.
- Perform other duties aligned with gifts, experience, and area needs.
Training
- Regional Training: Required events may be assigned at the regional director’s discretion.
- Area Training
- Complete job assignments under the supervision of the area director or assigned mentor.
- Receive individualized training to develop spiritual maturity and personal character.
- Focus on an individualized program to gain competency in ministry skills (e.g., The 5 C’s).
- Become familiar with area strategy and ministry health as assigned.
- Learn personal fundraising principles, including familiarity with Basic Elements for Part-Time Staff.
- Participate in Young Life discipleship experiences (e.g., summer staff, discipleship focus, adventure camping).
Education
Pursuing a college degree.
Qualifications
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Pay
Annual salary range: $20,400.00 to $24,250.00.
