Student Service Center Counselor I
About the role
The Student Service Center Counselor assists visitors and callers in the areas of Registrar, Student Accounts, and Financial Aid departments by accurately navigating CISCO, BANNER, APEX, SWIPER, and CRM systems. This position requires maintaining a detailed working knowledge of the Liberty University website and staying updated on policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Aid visitors and callers by quickly identifying issues and directing them to solutions using CISCO, BANNER, APEX, SWIPER, and CRM systems.
- Process various student forms and data input.
- Maintain a detailed working knowledge of the Liberty University website.
- Stay updated on policies and procedures of the Registrar, Student Accounts, and Financial Aid departments.
- Direct students appropriately using staff directories.
- Continuously improve customer service skills to maintain high standards of service.
- Occasionally assist with events outside of normal business hours, including Commencement exercises.
- Perform various projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Credentials
- High School Degree required.
- Strong computer skills.
- Well-developed communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent purchasing systems and computer skills.

- Effective verbal and written communication to convey clear, well-articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English for professional representation.
- Intuitive problem-solving and analysis of information.
- Organizational skills.
Physical and Sensory Abilities
- Frequent sitting for extended periods.
- Frequent hearing and speaking.
- Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs.
- Handling materials, reaching overhead, kneeling, or stooping.
- Lifting up to 10 pounds.
Working Conditions
The working environment is a climate-controlled office setting with moderate noise levels. Occasional travel to local and campus locations may be required.
Driving Requirements
If required, the employee may drive a personal vehicle or LU vehicles for work purposes. Proof of a valid driver’s license, acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required.
Pay Range
$16.82 - $18.27
