About the role
Select Specialty Hospitals, a division of Select Medical, is seeking a Student Respiratory Therapy Tech to join our team at the Victorian Village Critical Illness Recovery Hospital in Columbus. This position offers hands-on experience in respiratory care under the supervision of a licensed therapist.
Responsibilities
- Perform procedures and collect patient data
- Operate various respiratory equipment and devices
- Conduct chest physiotherapy and suctioning
- Monitor and document patient vitals
- Assist with specialized procedures and tracheostomy care
- Communicate with healthcare providers and report significant changes in patient condition
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Completed first year/fundamentals coursework
- Within six months of graduation
- BLS certification
Qualifications
- Passionate about providing a superior patient and employee experience
- Inventive problem solver with strong interpersonal skills
Skills
- Basic knowledge of respiratory techniques and aseptic practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and documentation skills
