Student Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary Provides technical assistance under the supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) for a specific patient group to ensure quality outcomes. Communicates effectively with staff, patients, and guests, and performs assigned duties as needed. Responsibilities Performs procedures outside critical care areas, including monitoring low-flow oxygen, administering aerosol therapy, hyperinflation, airway clearance, and electrocardiograms.Handles equipment cleaning, stocking, and transportation.Assists in cardiorespiratory arrests upon certification in Basic Life Support.Assesses patients, develops, implements, and evaluates care plans under RCP supervision.Supports patient care and participates in activities to improve healthcare delivery.Engages in ongoing education, clinical leadership development, and goal completion. Qualifications & Skills Currently enrolled as a second-year RCP student in an accredited program or a senior-year candidate within one year of graduation.Computer literacy is preferred.BLS certification required within 14 days of hire.
