What You’ll Do

Under direct supervision of the Respiratory Care supervisor and the shift Lead/Charge Therapist, the Student Respiratory Care Therapist provides respiratory pharmacologic, diagnostic, and therapeutic modalities to all age groups as defined by each Student Ohio Respiratory Care Permit. The Student Respiratory Care Therapist provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other team members, the physician, and the patient/family to achieve optimal outcomes. This position acts as a liaison with other clinical departments.

  • Carries out physician orders according to protocols, best practices and policies.
  • Accurate Documentation.
  • Performs diagnostic procedures and cardiac monitoring with recognition of arrhythmias.
  • Administers medications for the testing or treatment of cardiopulmonary impairment.
  • Provides input for policy, procedure and protocol development.

Minimum/Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be a student actively enrolled and in good standing in recognized respiratory care educational program
  • Ohio Respiratory Care Limited Permit issued by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board
  • BLS – Basic Life Support
