About the role

Undergraduate or graduate students at the University of Michigan-Dearborn are needed to work during the fall and winter months of 2026-2027. The assistant will represent the Criminology and Criminal Justice Graduate Program, promote the program at various events, assist in event management, and communicate with prospective and new students.

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 10 hours per month (2.5 hours/week) at a rate of $15/hour.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Criminology and Criminal Justice Graduate Program at events
  • Assist in event management and planning
  • Communicate with prospective and new students
  • Promote the program through various outreach activities

Requirements

  • Active student enrolled in a Criminology and Criminal Justice Master's program or a 4+1 program at the University of Michigan-Dearborn
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Familiarity with Google Suite (e.g., Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Meet, Sheets, Docs, Slides)
  • Some knowledge of the Criminology, Law, and Criminal Justice Program
  • Willingness to commit to the full academic year (Fall 2026 + Winter 2027 semesters)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with event planning and/or project management
  • Experience with marketing and/or PR
  • Experience working with media, social media, image editing, and/or graphic design

Pay

$15/hour

Schedule

Approximately 10 hours per month (2.5 hours/week) during the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 semesters.
