About the Role

Our church is healthy with an attendance of 550 and core of students of around 50. We are asking God for a man with an engaging personality; a team player; a dynamic communicator of Biblical truth to students who wants to be a part of a church that is seeking to impact our community with the gospel.

Principle Function

The role of the Student Pastor is to lead a growing Student Ministry, providing Christ-centered enthusiastic leadership to recruit, support, and maintain participation of students. The Student Pastor will collaborate with the Pastor and Ministry teams to provide leadership to recruit, train, and support volunteers. The Student Pastor is responsible for guiding students in their understanding of themselves and their faith.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the spiritual leader of Hill Crest Baptist Church's Student Program, encompassing grades seven (7) thru twelve (12).
  • Provide Bible-based instruction along with appropriate teaching materials and curriculum.
  • Provide counseling to students and help them realize their individual goals.
  • Administer and plan numerous student programs like evangelism, retreats, camp and Bible study sessions.
  • Train students on how to be future faith-filled leaders and set up programs to facilitate spiritual growth.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with various leaders in the community for purposes of swift outreach programs.
  • Provide support and guidance to parents.
  • Prepare monthly/annual budgets.
  • Attend and contribute to staff and church meetings.
  • Willingness to attend student functions at schools.
  • Incorporate students into various church ministries.
  • Build relationships with the local schools.
  • Provide counsel and support to students and their families experiencing sickness, grief, or distress.

Requirements

  • A mature Christian, servant-hearted, with a genuine passion for Student Ministry and Biblical education.
  • Proficient understanding of challenges and needs of students.
  • Competency computer skills and proficiency with social media.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • At least an undergrad ministry degree and preferably a Masters with 3-5 years of experience in a church of 200 or more.
  • Ability to lead by example.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills accompanied by a positive attitude with the student and young adults in the church.
  • Ability to deal with and relate to young people by earning their respect and trust.

Schedule

This is a full-time position (40 hours), Monday through Thursday, as well as fulfilling the requirements of the job during regular, ongoing services.
