About the Role
The Student Outreach Coordinator is responsible for attending recruitment events across California to engage prospective students, hosting information sessions, and providing detailed information about university programs. This position will support partnership initiatives by coordinating the setup of new partnerships through the dissemination of digital assets such as flyers, viewbooks, landing pages, and custom application links, and performing other duties as assigned to enhance partner engagement.
Candidates must reside in one of the following counties: Los Angeles, Ventura, Kern, or Santa Barbara.
Type of Supervision
Receives general supervision from the Director, Strategic Partnerships. General supervision indicates that the incumbent performs a variety of duties, some of which may be complex within established policy guidelines, and receives occasional supervision.
Responsibilities
- Student Outreach
- Attend in-person recruitment events, including community college transfer fairs, conferences, and organizational benefit fairs across assigned region or area of focus
- Coordinate event participation including preparing outreach materials (e.g., flyers, promotional items) and managing setup/breakdown of tabling displays
- Schedule and host information sessions to engage potential students
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UMass Global programs and speak directly with prospective students to provide details about university programs
- Meet with external partners to coordinate and schedule activities related to student recruitment
- Collaborate with Director, Strategic Partnerships to maintain outreach calendar
- Partnership Support
- Coordinate the setup of new partnerships as assigned by the Directors of Strategic Partnerships
- Create landing pages, vanity URLs, and other digital assets for partner engagement
- Accurately maintain Salesforce (CRM) database with relevant lead generation activity data including, but not limited to, prospective student and account activity data
- Maintain accurate records of student inquiries, activities, and outreach efforts by entering and updating data in Salesforce (CRM), ensuring timely follow-up and tracking of engagement metrics
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Education, Experience, Certification and/or Licenses
- A minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in student recruitment, outreach, sales or a closely related field with a focus on student engagement or partnership building, preferably in higher education
- Experience organizing or supporting in-person and online events such as job fairs or information sessions
- A minimum of an associate’s degree required

- Ability to frequently and efficiently travel to events
- Strong verbal communication for engaging with prospective students during recruitment events and information sessions
- Written communication to effectively create digital assets like landing pages and partnership materials
- Strong networking skills to cultivate and maintain partnerships
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate information to diverse audiences
- Ability to work independently while managing time effectively to complete tasks within designated hours and avoid exceeding allotted work time
- Ability to build relationships with students, staff, and external partners
- Ability to organize and schedule recruitment events, such as fairs and information sessions
- Confidence and professionalism in presenting university programs to groups
- Familiarity with tools for creating and managing digital content (e.g., building landing pages, managing vanity URLs)
- Comfort using CRM systems for student outreach tracking

Special Requirements
- Position may be required to work flexible hours, particularly given the need to support students’ or stakeholders’ extended hours of operation, and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
- Applicants are subject to a background check and a criminal history review
- A valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel are required; position is subject to a Motor Vehicle Report; appropriate auto liability insurance coverage must be maintained
- Requires 25–40% travel, such as to meetings, conferences, and may include overnight travel
Pay
The hiring range for this position is $25.00–$32.00 per hour. Offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographical location, knowledge, skills, years and depth of experience, and equity with internal team members.
