Responsibilities

• Answers call lights and assist patients promptly and courteously
• Contributes to the unit's overall patient satisfaction score by doing regular rounding, escalation of complaints and providing service recovery
• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Help patients with mobility, including transfers, walking, and repositioning
• Support meal assistance and observe dietary restrictions as directed
• Monitor and document basic vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and respiration, as instructed
• Promptly report to the RN any abnormal readings or patient observations identified while performing tasks delegated by the RN
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in patient care areas
• Provide emotional support, listen to patient concerns, and communicate observations to nursing staff
• Help with stocking supplies and preparing rooms for admissions and discharges
• Blood Glucose Sampling, if applicable

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in NLN-accredited Nursing Program
• High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Required
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Possess excellent customer service
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
