Student Minister

About the Role

Responsible to the Pastor for the planning, directing, and developing of comprehensive ministry to students (grades 7-12) for Eastern Hills Baptist Church.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and events of the Student Ministry for the purpose of outreach, discipleship, fellowship, and ministry.
• Work closely with the ministerial staff and develop a Student Advisory Committee to oversee all facets of the Student Ministry.
• Offer guidance to students concerning spiritual, personal, and family matters, making referrals to qualified counselors as needed.
• Build relationships with parents and guardians of students as part of Family Ministry.
• Work with the Nominating Committee in the enlistment of all Student Ministry Sunday School workers.
• Work with the Stewardship Committee in the preparation of the annual budget of the Student Ministry and oversee the finances of this ministry.
• Coordinate all programs and events with the church calendar and other church ministries.
• Serve as leader, enlister, motivator, and resource person for church members who assume leadership positions in the various phases of ministry.
• Participate in regular staff meetings and retreats.
• Accomplish other duties as assigned.

Spiritual Life

• The conduct and character of this staff member shall reflect Biblical Christian values at all times.
• This staff member shall strive to be spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically strong.
• This staff member shall pursue holiness through personal Bible study and prayer.

Doctrinal Alignment

• The faith and practice of this staff member must be in alignment with Southern Baptist doctrine as outlined in The Baptist Faith and Message.
• This staff member will support the vision of the Pastor and promote unity within the fellowship of Eastern Hills Baptist Church.
