Student Health Psychiatrist
About the role
The Psychiatrist will provide high-quality psychiatric care to students at the University of California Riverside. This includes evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management. This position operates within the Student Health Services team and collaborates closely with the Mental Health Initiatives cluster, which include Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Well-being, and Follow up Team (SWIFT), and Case Management, to ensure the integration of psychiatric and counseling care to ensure a holistic and coordinate approach to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage medication for students.
- Collaborate with primary care physicians and outside therapists as necessary.
- Collaborate with Care Coordination regarding hospitalized patients or those with complicated medical needs.
- Communicate with the Mental Health Initiatives cluster on student cases, treatment plans, and crisis management support.
- Provide 85% face-to-face clinical time (60 minutes for new intakes, 30 minutes for follow-up visits).
- Allocate 10% of time to administrative tasks and 5% to collaborating with the Mental Health Initiatives cluster.
Requirements
- Current MD or DO license.
- Experience in providing psychiatric care to college students.
- Knowledge of electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychiatry.
- Completion of an accredited residency program in psychiatry.
- Board certification in Psychiatry.

Pay
The full salary range for the Student Health Psychiatrist is $167,152 - $429,063 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $319,400 annually. Salary offers are based on a variety of considerations, including education, licensure and certifications, experience, and organizational needs.
Schedule
This position will be hired between 80% to 100% FTE.
