Description
The Imaging Student Extern will screen, position, and image patients under the supervision of Radiology Technologists and Radiologists. Responsibilities include maintaining good rapport with patients, ensuring patient safety, and adhering to department protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of the first year of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program and current enrollment in the second year.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pass ARRT (R) certification within 6 months of program completion.
- Active in role for up to 18 months.

- Screens patients for safety-related issues.
- Utilizes proper techniques for exams.
- Completes patient documentation accurately.
- Reviews studies in PACS.
- Participates in student education.

- Provides quality patient care.
- Communicates effectively with all team members.
- Respects and supports diverse individuals and cultures.
Position Purpose
The Student Radiology Technologist is responsible for assisting in the production of diagnostic images under the guidance of Radiology Technologists and Radiologists.
