Student Engagement Manager, Healthcare Schools
About the role
Juno leverages collective bargaining power to secure better student loan rates for graduate students. With 290,000+ members and over $2B in negotiated loan volume, the company has proven that group buying works and is the most popular way to pay for the world's top graduate programs. Federal lending reforms effective July 2026 — including new caps on federal graduate loans and the elimination of Grad PLUS for new students — have created significant funding gaps for millions of students. Juno provides transparent, competitive private options, but most students do not yet know the company exists.
The dental vertical proved the model: a peer ambassador network and over 700 direct student conversations in a single cycle produced the highest conversion rates in the company. That model is now expanding across medicine, PA, nursing, optometry, and veterinary programs. The mission is to be the person students in your area actually know — building relationships with student organizations and chapter leadership, getting Juno into the buildings, and having the conversations that turn a name in the system into a student who trusts Juno with the biggest financial decision of their life so far. This is a relationship job with a travel schedule, not a desk job or a sales job.
Responsibilities
- Build school-level relationships with chapter presidents, student government leaders, and class representatives across healthcare degrees in your territory through cold outreach, follow-up, and ongoing engagement.
- Book and run vendor fairs and lunch-and-learns on campus, including securing rooms, catering, and materials; run virtual sessions for schools too far to reach in person.
- Work district, regional, and national student organization conferences across the US — staffing tables, talking to students, working leadership networking rooms, and identifying ambassador candidates.
- Support and recruit student ambassadors: interview, onboard, and back up ambassadors in your territory.
- Conduct high-volume one-on-one student meetings (mostly video) during peak season; understand the top reasons a healthcare student with a rate offer never submits an application from first-hand conversations.
- Follow up faster than competitors; the window between a student meeting and a decision is short.
- Become fluent in graduate borrowing mechanics: federal vs. private loans, rate drivers, cosigners, in-school deferral, refinancing, and the impact of the new federal caps.
- Act as the field intelligence source: relay school tuition deadlines, competitor activity, and real student questions back to the team.
Schedule
The year has a distinct peak and the role moves with it:
- September–February (outreach-led): Chapter relationships, campus event booking, conference season, ambassador recruiting and onboarding. This period creates next year's meetings.
- March–August (meeting-led): Students shop in spring; tuition deadlines run June through October. Weeks become student conversations and follow-up.
Travel is roughly 15% of the year and clusters in heavy stretches during fall and early winter, including weekends when conferences fall on them.
Pay
$70,000–$100,000 including performance upside tied to growth milestones.
Benefits
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- Retirement matching
Requirements
- 2–5 years in a relationship-driven role (campus programs, student organizations, field marketing, community building, admissions, events, or a zero-to-one motion you ran yourself), or an outlier track record; experience with graduate programs is a bonus.
- Ability to walk into a room of 24-year-olds and have a real conversation about money without it becoming a pitch — this is the single most important qualification and will be screened for directly.
- Resilience with volume outreach: emailing chapter presidents who have not heard of you and following up until someone answers.
- Relationship-building that compounds across student organizations, chapter leadership, ambassadors, and program directors; equally comfortable at a leadership networking reception and in a group chat with first-years.
- Willingness to travel regularly within your region, including weekends for conferences.
- Comfort with seasonality: plan months ahead for the peak and go all in when it lands.
- Self-directed organization: run dozens of school relationships, an event calendar, and a meeting load simultaneously, mostly unsupervised.
Qualifications
- Magnetic presence: students want to talk to you and ambassadors want to work for you.
- Scrappy execution: booking rooms, ordering food, printing materials, and running sessions is not beneath you.
- Hungry for ownership: ready to own outcomes, not just make recommendations.
- Systems thinker: would rather build the process once than do the thing by hand ten times.
Why Join Juno

- Market timing: federal aid changes create a massive tailwind for growth.
- Proven model: $2B+ negotiated, 290K+ members, product-market fit achieved, and a student engagement model proven in one vertical now expanding everywhere.
