Student Employment - Student Advocacy and Outreach Specialist for No Cost / Low-Cost Textbooks

About the role

This is a Campus Internship Program (CIP) position offered through the ePortfolio Office. To be eligible, you must be enrolled in 9 credit hours during Fall and Spring and 6 credit hours in the Summer Semester and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA. This position requires you to interact with others with various levels of English proficiency in-person, on the phone, and through email and text messages. The applicant must be able to self-start and work under limited supervision, maintain confidentiality, and work in a collaborative team setting.

Responsibilities

Through employment in the ePortfolio lab, students will develop:

• Knowledge of ePortfolio technology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to use Mac and PC operating systems and familiarity with mobile devices.
• Customer service and strong written and oral communication.
• Self-motivated, creative, and able to work and accomplish tasks with minimal direct supervision.
• Ability to prioritize tasks as they arise and meet multiple deadlines in a timely manner and do so effectively under stress.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
• Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.

Requirements

• SLCC student with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Currently enrolled in 6 credit hours for fall semester.
• Currently enrolled in 6 credit hours for spring semester.
• Awarded Federal Work Study program.
• Completed the FAFSA.
