Student Coordinator

Job Title: Student Coordinator Location: Greater South Side (7522 South Greenwood Avenue, Chicago, 60619) Reports to: Program Manager Job Summary The Student Coordinator ensures that students and families feel welcome and safe in our Program. They assist the Program Manager by making sure the classroom space is set up and efficient for learning and by supervising students to ensure orderly transitions. Responsibilities Classroom set up and tear downCollect donated items from families at the door and track service hoursGreet families and students, interact with them in ways that align with our TPMS values, particularly our value of CommunityCheck in students when they arrive and guide them to the correct locationCheck students out when they leave and guide them to their parent/guardianSupervise students on bathroom breaks and assist with student transitions between classesCommunicate with the Program Manager to inform them of any concerns families may bring to their attentionAssist with other projects as assigned Qualifications High School diploma requiredCollaborative team memberUnderstanding of a busy school environmentExperience supervising young childrenExtremely reliable with consistent attendance and maintain a high level of professionalismBilingual in Spanish is a plusMust pass Chicago Public Schools background checkExcellent oral and written communication skillsProven experience collaborating and working with people from diverse cultural and economic backgroundsPersonal commitment to the mission and values of The People’s Music School Physical Demands Ascend/descend stairsMove equipment and instruments weighing up to 35 lbsTolerance of prolonged and continuous stationary periods at a desk/computer Schedule Part-time position - 20 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends required for events Monday-Thursday 2:00pm - 7:00pm during Programming Weeks Compensation And Benefits $20 per hourPaid Time OffPaid Sick Leave403b Retirement Plan with employer match Are you intrigued by this job but don’t meet every single requirement?
