Student Co-op - Engineering

Duties and Responsibilities

• Aid teams and encourage all associates in the adoption of lean practices and initiatives.
• Collect, enter, and analyze data with the creation of improvement plans. This may include, but is not limited to, productivity, total productive maintenance (TPM), downtime, scrap, and change over initiatives.
• Lead 5S efforts, including planning, implementing, and supporting plant floor and maintenance activities.
• Conduct cycle time studies to establish and validate production standards, including the creation of standardized work.
• Analyze process layouts and material flows to identify areas for improvement.
• Implement cost and waste reduction strategies.
• Propose improvements to the manufacturing process.
• Support the quality lab in serial monitoring, failure analysis, and quality-related investigations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled, degree-seeking student from an accredited engineering program majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another Engineering-related discipline.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of computer applications such as MS Office, MS Access, Minitab, AutoCAD, and SAP (training will be provided if needed).
• The ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
• The capability to work overtime when necessary.
• Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
