Student Bee Technician

Responsibilities

• Travel to field sites around Alabama
• Aid with field work including plant surveys & sweep netting
• Process insect specimens for pinning
• Assist with beekeeping tasks such as hive management
• Build and maintain honey bee boxes
• Collect/Enter data into spreadsheets

Qualifications

• Enrolled student at Auburn University
• Interest in Entomology or related discipline
• Interest in plant and insect ID
• Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
• Ability to work outside for long periods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn new techniques
