UVU’s Language Hub in the Department of Languages and Cultures is looking for highly motivated self-starters with experience in audiovisual production.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Language Hub manager in developing, executing, promoting, and maintaining projects that advance the Hub’s vision and mission.
- Support daily operations: assist students, faculty, and tutors; open/close the Hub; answer phone/email; organize learning materials; schedule appointments; perform light cleaning and general upkeep.
- Provide training, orientation, and hands-on assistance to students and faculty for audiovisual projects.
- Create, maintain, and organize tutorial guides, reports, promotional materials, and marketing collateral.
- Assist in hosting Language Hub events.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- Must be a current UVU student registered for at least 6.0 credits.
- Available to work 15–20 hours per week during normal business hours (9:00 am – 5:00 pm) plus some evening shifts (schedule to be determined).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with content creation, social-media management, and podcasting.
- Native or near-native proficiency in ASL, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, or another language.
- General understanding of second-language acquisition.
- Experience in event planning.

- Knowledge of standard audiovisual production techniques, equipment, software, maintenance, and file formats.
- Audio production candidates: experience with DAWs (ProTools, Logic Pro, Adobe Audition), patch bays, routing, and signal flow.
- Video production candidates: experience with camera operation, lighting, sound design, and editing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc.).
