Job Duties
- Create graphics and content for social media.
- Develop a social media calendar.
- Design and develop flyers, brochures and other promotional content for online and print.
- Research business stories to tell, relevant industry news, trending industry topics and industry influences.
- Write articles, press releases and social media content for internal (employees) and external (media, customers) consumption.
- Update department website when required using the Content Management System (CMS).
Requirements
- Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours while employed.
- Fields of study may include: Communications, Journalism, News & Storytelling, Marketing, Public Relations, or English.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other desktop publishing software.
- Ability to create and assist in the development of professionally written documents suitable for multiple audiences.
- Familiarity with web page formatting.
- Skilled in the use of general graphic design.
- Demonstrate ability to use journalistic storytelling techniques and copy editing.
- Reliable in completing assigned projects in a polished and timely manner.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (preferred).
