Job Duties

  • Create graphics and content for social media.
  • Develop a social media calendar.
  • Design and develop flyers, brochures and other promotional content for online and print.
  • Research business stories to tell, relevant industry news, trending industry topics and industry influences.
  • Write articles, press releases and social media content for internal (employees) and external (media, customers) consumption.
  • Update department website when required using the Content Management System (CMS).

Requirements

  • Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours while employed.
  • Fields of study may include: Communications, Journalism, News & Storytelling, Marketing, Public Relations, or English.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other desktop publishing software.
  • Ability to create and assist in the development of professionally written documents suitable for multiple audiences.
  • Familiarity with web page formatting.
  • Skilled in the use of general graphic design.
  • Demonstrate ability to use journalistic storytelling techniques and copy editing.
  • Reliable in completing assigned projects in a polished and timely manner.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (preferred).
