Responsibilities
- Assisting cooks and other kitchen personnel in tasks such as cleaning and paring vegetables, washing dishes, serving from a serving line, cleaning tables, and sweeping floors.
- Ensuring neatness and cleanliness in preparing, handling, and serving food, and providing courteous service to patrons.
- Care and use of food service equipment including meat slicer, mixing machine, steam cookers, and beverage machines.
- Receiving cash or meal ticket receipts in payment of bills, purchases, admission to events or other services.
- Performing other duties as assigned by management, including related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Requirements
- Must be a current UGA student, enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for the semester.
- Must use “Other Documents #1” to attach Athena class schedule.
- Physical demands include performing physical activity, moving loads up to 50 lbs, reaching, climbing, balancing, crouching, twisting, crawling, and kneeling; working in noisy, hot/cold environments with chemicals, cleaning equipment, dust, fumes, and odors; and working long hours standing.
- Physical abilities include performing duties with repetitive motion of wrists, arms, and shoulders, possessing hand and finger coordination; and handling all types of foods.

- Position Summary: This is general work preparing and serving food as well as clerical work requiring processing financial transactions and handling cash and payment cards. Rapid and accurate completion of transactions necessary to receiving and disbursing cash. Emphasis is placed on accuracy in handling cash as well as preparation and serving food. Accuracy of work is verified through the comparison of cash with receipt stubs, cash register receipts, or other controls. Work is performed according to established and well-defined procedures.
- Roles and Responsibilities: Includes maintaining high standards of cleanliness and ensuring patrons are served in a pleasant and courteous manner. Assignments are received in the form of specific oral and written instructions and are reviewed by inspection and observation of results obtained.
