Auburn University Libraries is seeking applicants for the position of Student Assistant Desk Supervisor to provide customer service support at the Circulation Desk and Mell Classroom Information Desk. This role assists faculty, staff, and students while contributing to the daily operations of the unit. Student assistants may work up to 20 hours per week, based on operational needs, and report to the Night Supervisor within the Circulation Unit.
Schedule
Up All Night Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 12:00 a.m. – 7:15 a.m.
Pay
$9.35/hour + $2.40/hour shift premium for overnight hours.
Responsibilities
- Assist all library patrons at the desks
- Answer questions face to face or via phone
- Maintain a safe and secure environment and coordinate with security officers
- Check library materials in and/or out
- Return items to the shelves
- Sort books and other library materials
- Assist with printing and scanning needs
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled as a student at Auburn University
- All application questions must be completed
- Must provide detailed availability for each day of the week within up all night work hours

Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform tasks that may include standing, walking, reaching, handling materials, and occasionally lifting or moving items weighing up to 25 pounds
