Responsibilities
- Perform thorough inspection of aircraft structures, identifying and documenting any signs of damage or wear.
- Comply with environmental health, safety policies, and procedures.
- Execute sheet metal repairs and modifications on various structural components, including but not limited to the wing, fuselage, and tail sections.
- Fabricate and/or modify structural modifications on aircraft parts.
- Perform minor structural repairs on composite components either attached or detached.
- Perform mechanical, electrical removals and installations as required.
- Interpret and follow aircraft maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Assist with complex structural repairs on/off aircraft.
- Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure accurate repairs and compliance with aviation regulations.
- Inspect confined areas of airframe.
- Stay current on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to aviation structural maintenance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of structural sheet metal repair and modification experience or sustained similar experience. Corporate jet aircraft or commercial aircraft experience preferred.
- CRJ airframe experience a plus.
- MRO experience a plus.
- Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) a plus.
- Completed Sheetmetal A/C Tech school or equivalent schooling is preferred.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License is preferred.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Knowledge of aircraft structures and materials.
- Able to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.
- Possess (basic) set of tools.
- Able to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions both verbally and in writing.
- Comfortable working with technology / entering aircraft maintenance actions into a computer-based system.
- Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) if applicable.
- Must be comfortable with shift work; we are a 24/7 operation with 12-hour shifts which include days, nights, and weekends.
