Core Responsibilities
- Design and analyze vertical structures for site/civil projects
- Prepare designs, structural calculations, cost estimates, and specifications
- Work in cooperation with a multidisciplinary staff to deliver PS&E contract documents on time and within the project budget for local agencies, federal agencies, state DOTs, and developers
- Perform structural analysis using Enercalc, L-Pile, STAAD and other Bentley Engineering software
- Design and analyze concrete vaults, culverts, storage tanks, and booster station structures in support of municipal projects
- Design and analyze foundations, abutments, and various types of specialty components in support of federal projects
- Design and analyze retaining walls and other structural components in support of roadway or site civil projects
- Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction; ensure client objectives are met
- Assist in building a strong regional presence for the firm in transportation and structural engineering
- Structures lead for smaller projects, coordinating staff and design efforts
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
- 7 to 10 years of design experience
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or ability to obtain PE within one year
- Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices, some travel required--
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams a plus
- Design Build and Alternative Delivery experience a plus
- Established relationships with local clients (Department of Transportation) a plus
- Solid understanding of vertical structure projects and multiple types of construction
