Structured Cabling Laborer - Lebanon, IN

Mortenson is seeking a Structured Cabling Logistics Laborer to assist Cabling Technicians on hyperscale data center projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation of structured cabling systems, including fiber optic and copper cabling
  • Support low voltage installation tasks such as cable pulling, routing, labeling, and basic terminations
  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit utilizing various hand tools
  • Safely utilize hand and power tools after proper training (drills, crimpers, cutters, etc.)
  • Lift, position, and fasten objects as required for installation support
  • Operate the following equipment based on project requirements: Bobcat/Skid-steer, Forklift/Telehandler, Boom Lifts/Aerial Lifts
  • Prepare, handle, stage, and supply materials and tools to support electrical and cabling trades
  • Coordinate material deliveries and maintain organized material storage areas
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment
  • Assist with assembling and dismantling low voltage carrier systems
  • Follow all safety procedures and work under immediate supervision according to standard instructions and established procedures
  • Effectively work and build relationships with team members of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • Support general labor duties as needed to maintain project flow
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience preferred
  • Graduation from apprenticeship program preferred
  • Current driver’s license
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, blueprints and schematic drawings, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to work with tools, such as power and non-powered hand tools
  • Willing and able to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions
  • Ability to handle materials that can weigh up to 100 lbs
  • Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills
  • Detail oriented; active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs
  • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, O-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.)
