About the role
This position involves welding by the electric arc method using various types of equipment.
Responsibilities
- Interprets drawings with some assistance from supervisor
- Selects the correct welding electrode and adjusts the welding machine
- May operate arc air gouging equipment
- Produces welds that are acceptable in strength and appearance in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions using stick or gas-shielded wire welding procedures
- Judges proper setup for welding with some assistance from Foreman
Qualifications
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Must complete a weld test before being hired
