Responsibilities

  • Rapidly develop structural building information models (BIMs)
  • Annotate plans and details
  • Create three-dimensional renderings
  • Rationalize geometry for appropriate structural schemes
  • Aid in creating structural narratives
  • Collaborate closely with design originator, project managers, and team of engineers and modelers
  • Recommend minor design changes with sound judgment and discretion
  • Guide or assist lower-level technicians as needed
  • Coordinate all BIM activities with project manager, designers, and engineers
  • Interact with clients and team members regarding project models
  • Utilize latest tools and digital workflows to efficiently create and maintain BIM information and interoperate with analysis, documentation, fabrication, and construction models
  • Aid in developing structural detailing in documentation models
  • Work with Project Manager to establish deadlines to stop internal work before plotting deadline to ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables
  • Aid in preparing and annotating structural details
  • Use tools in support of project-specific digital implementation
  • Periodically check model content for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to graphic and modeling standards
  • Properly organize structural and reference models
  • Archive various deliverables, models, and databases at key milestones
  • Update and maintain related project documentation (OneNote, BIM execution plans, sheet lists, etc.)
  • Understand various types of structural elements and materials used in BIMs and deliverables
  • Learn detailing conventions for commonly encountered conditions and project-specific details
  • Support company-wide efforts to build effective relationships with employees, clients, industry partners, community stakeholders, and vendors
  • Model professional behavior and support employee development and training initiatives
  • Strive to achieve positive results in a timely and efficient manner

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or certificate in Drafting Design preferred
  • 3 minimum years of progressive drafting experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Revit, Tekla, and AutoCAD, with Rhino preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to mentor others, build partnerships, and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong client-service attitude with ability to multi-task
