About the role

As a Full Time Structural Steel Fitter Fabricator at Kinsley Steel, Inc., you will play a crucial role in the construction process of structural metal products. You will lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts according to blueprint and layout specifications. Safety is paramount, and you will be trained to operate overhead cranes and use cutting and heating torches properly.

Your expertise will be utilized in accurately performing complex heat corrections, checking camber and sweep tolerances of beams and steel shapes, and making necessary corrections while adhering to pertinent codes and specifications. Attention to detail is key as you produce finished products that meet recognized standards, codes, and customer expectations by maintaining quality procedures and practices.

Additionally, you will set up complex jigs or assemblies, identify and correct potential hazards, interpret complex documents, and perform daily cleaning and maintenance of your work area.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts according to blueprint and layout specifications
• Operate overhead cranes and use cutting and heating torches safely
• Perform complex heat corrections and check camber and sweep tolerances of beams and steel shapes
• Make necessary corrections while adhering to pertinent codes and specifications
• Set up complex jigs or assemblies
• Identify and correct potential hazards
• Interpret complex documents
• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of your work area
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by functioning and communicating effectively with co-workers, clients, and supervisors
• Demonstrate a commitment to safety by working in compliance with Kinsley's safety policies and procedures

Requirements

• Superior level layout and math skills
• Complete understanding of pre-heat functions
• Ability to set up and use a track torch (a plus)
• Must pass all tack tests for F.A.C.W. (Flux Core) - 3G welding
• Attention to detail and precision to ensure fabricated parts are accurately positioned and aligned according to blueprint and layout specifications
