Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, preparation, and finalization of project documents.
  • Responsible for contract administration duties, such as responding to RFI’s, and checking shop drawings / submittals.
  • Designs load-bearing structures or structural elements.
  • Performs analysis of building materials for use in construction.
  • Develops plans and specifications for use during construction and ensures all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Determines cause of structural failures, damages, and defects through site investigations.
  • Provides reports detailing investigations and assessment of damages to the structure.
  • Demonstrates commitment to deliver outstanding service – both with design team and external clients.
  • Takes ownership to personally resolve problems (or find someone who can).
  • Listens well, asks clarifying questions, and checks for agreement with team and client.
  • Committed to following up with clients in all instances in a timely manner.
  • Strong sense of accountability - ensures that you will do what you say that you are going to do.
  • Creates a personal connection – friendly and respectful.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 3 – 6 years' experience.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills, detail-oriented.
  • Proficient with various structural design software (RISA Suite, Enercalcs, MS Excel).
  • Earns trust and takes additional ownership of projects, results, and customer service.
  • Takes responsibility for many vendor and customer relationships.
  • Understands jobsite environment and reviews jobsite progress with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to lead an assignment/special project from start to finish.
