Responsibilities
- Engineer-of-record for design and analysis of impactful engineering projects
- Mentor junior staff and collaborate with seasoned professionals to enhance expertise
- Lead structural design teams and oversee multi-discipline projects
- Prepare technical memorandums and write clear internal and external communications
- Develop budgets and schedules for complex tasks and mentor others
- Interact with clients during project meetings and resolve issues
- Perform seismic analysis and design on Risk Category III and IV structures
- Break down complex projects into manageable tasks and prepare structural calculation books
- Manage file organization and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets
- Lead complex technical reports and reviews of engineering reports
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members
- Handle disciplinary actions and terminate employees as necessary
Requirements
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in primary state of practice or able to obtain licensure within six months
- Structural Engineer certification preferred but not required
- Advanced understanding of structural analysis software (RISA, ENERCALC, SAP2000, L-Pile, PYWall)
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D CAD software
- Strong understanding of structural engineering fundamentals and governing codes
- Expertise in seismic analysis and design of Risk Category III and IV structures
- Ability to communicate effectively and handle client interactions
- Proficiency in technical writing and preparing detailed technical specifications
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Experience with project delivery and budgeting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; 5 years with advanced degree
