Structural Project Engineer
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the preparation of bridge and structural design documents, including design calculations, AutoCAD plans, specifications, and quantities
- Provide technical engineering expertise to project manager and/or client to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work
- Analyze new and existing concrete gravity dams, arch dams, buttress dams, spillways, powerhouses, intake towers, penstocks, dam gates, and similar structures for stresses, stability, and performance under extreme loads
- Develop and evaluate alternatives for new facilities and upgrades to existing projects
- Complete detailed design calculations and prepare contract documents and technical specifications
- Prepare formal written reports, give presentations, and participate in internal and client meetings
- Collaborate across internal disciplines and office locations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Massachusetts or Rhode Island Professional Engineer (PE) License
- 8+ years of bridge design or related engineering experience
- MASSESDOT/RIDOT design experience
- Strong background in structural analysis and theory
- Strong technical and critical thinking skills with excellent attention to detail
- Strong AutoCAD skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Enthusiasm to learn and willingness to take on responsibility
- Willing to work in a collaborative team environment
- Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

$89,000-$116,000 or commensurate
