Brief Description

WDC is currently seeking a talented and self-motivated licensed structural engineer for our team in Nashville. At WDC, we recognize the diverse factors influencing career choices and strive to make everyone feel valued and engaged.

About the Role

As a member of our team, you will gain experience providing structural engineering services on a wide range of projects including hospitals, medical office buildings, free standing emergency departments, higher education academic facilities, parking garages, retail, commercial, and industrial projects. Our projects are often located in areas with high seismic and wind loadings.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis and Design of framing systems and foundations
  • Perform calculations and create/run engineering models in design software
  • Safety and compliance with codes
  • Shop drawing review and conduct construction site visits
  • Coverage with structural project managers and clients
  • Preparation/Coordination of contract documents
  • Able to integrate structural design into contract documents

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
  • A Master’s in Structural Engineering is preferred
  • Licensed engineer in the state of Tennessee or have the ability to get licensed immediately
  • 4-10 years of experience in the analysis and design of building structures
  • Design experience with structural steel and concrete (wood, masonry, and post-tension concrete are a plus)
  • Proficient use of common structural analysis and design software (Bentley RAM software is a plus)

Requirements

  • Annual Base Salary: $89,000 - $101,000
