Overview
Kimley-Horn is seeking Engineering students to join its Columbia, South Carolina (SC) office. This position is not available remotely.
Responsibilities
- Utilize technical software programs regularly to analyze, produce, and Quality Control deliverables for clients.
- Contribute to pre-construction efforts on structural projects such as bridges, retaining walls, and other structural design tasks related to public and/or private bridge projects.
- Prepare bridge/structural plans, specifications, and estimates for clients.
- Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to realize clients' visions for the built environment.
- Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn's and client-specific practices, procedures, and standards.
- Gain proficiency in one or more software programs: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, and/or GIS.
Qualifications
In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following fields:
- Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
- Structural Engineering
- Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering
- Engineering Technology
