Structural Intern
Overview
Kimley-Horn is seeking Engineering students to join their Eden Prairie, MN office in 2027. This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
- Contribute to the pre-construction on structural projects like bridges, retaining walls, and other structural design efforts related to public and/or private bridge projects.
- Prepare bridge/structural plans, specifications and estimates for clients.
- Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce clients’ visions for the future built environment.
- Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
- Structural Interns will learn one or more software programs: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS.
Qualifications
- In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following majors: Civil and/or Environmental Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering.
