About the role
As a Fitter, you’ll lay the groundwork for welders and fabricators by interpreting blueprints, aligning parts, and prepping steel components for final assembly. Your precision and layout skills ensure the structural integrity of every finished product that supports infrastructure across the globe.
Responsibilities
- Lay out, align, and fit steel parts according to blueprints and shop drawings
- Tack weld components prior to final weld
- Measure and verify dimensions for accuracy
- Operate overhead cranes and hand/power tools safely
- Maintain a clean, organized work area
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a high-performing team
Requirements
- 1+ year of layout or fitting experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, and layout tools
- Familiarity with tack welding and fabrication processes
- Experience using overhead cranes, grinders, and cutting tools
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong safety mindset and pride in quality workmanship
Schedule
- 2nd shift: Monday to Thursday, 5:00 PM – 3:30 AM
- 4th shift: Friday to Sunday, 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay
$29.35/hour with a $2/hour night shift differential. Pay increases to $30.38/hour at 90 days and again at the 6-month anniversary.
