Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of bridges, tunnels, aerial structures, and station elements.
- Perform quality control reviews and prepare detailed inspection reports.
- Identify and document structural deficiencies in accordance with NBIS and AASHTO standards.
- Issue red/yellow flags and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain inspection logs, test records, and quality documentation.
- Cookordination with WMATA staff, contractors, and third-party inspectors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- NBIS certification (N-I or N-III) required depending on role level.
- 3–10+ years of experience in structural inspection, field engineering, or quality control.
- Familiarity with WMATA inspection protocols and regional transit infrastructure is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in the field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Pay
- QC Junior (3–5 years, N-I cert.): $32.40–$39.60/hr
- QC Senior (10+ years, N-III cert.): $43.20–$52.80/hr
