Structural Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

About the role

We are looking for a Structural Engineering Intern with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for engineering to join our team at AME Engineering, part of the ARCO Family of Construction Companies. In this role, you will help develop structural system designs for design/build projects, including Industrial, Self-storage, Controlled Environments, Entertainment, Multi-Family, and other facility types.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify structural systems, including load calculations, gravity and lateral system analysis, structural details, and connections for various projects.
• Assist our multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver projects.
• Collaborate with other engineering and modeling staff to deliver comprehensive structural design packages.
• Contribute to the development of industry-leading automated design methods and tools as part of an innovation-focused team.
• Work with our fabrication modeling team to facilitate successful project execution.
• Provide value engineering reviews and alternate design options to maximize cost savings, optimize lead times, and improve project execution.
• Act with integrity, supporting the company’s values and maintaining a focus on meeting or exceeding customer requirements and expectations.

Requirements

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Engineering program or related field of study.
• Prior industry internship experience is a plus.
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus.
