Structural Engineering Intern

About the role

Join Garver's Water Design Center (WDC) in Greenville, SC as a Structural Engineering Intern. You'll work with a close-knit team of water treatment facility planning and design experts, gaining hands-on experience in structural design for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, tanks, vaults, and other ancillary structures.
• Create finite element models to analyze various structures.
• Develop a basic understanding of the water/wastewater treatment process and the role of structural engineers.
• Design treatment process basins, chemical facilities, administration buildings, retaining walls, and other supporting structures.
• Prepare construction cost estimates.
• Review construction submittals.

Requirements

• Pursuing a structural engineering major from an ABET accredited program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment

This is an in-office position with occasional travel to offsite locations for work-related tasks or meetings.
