STRUCTURAL ENGINEER V
About the role
The position involves coordinating and overseeing the development of project plans, reports, permits, specifications, and cost estimates for various civil infrastructure projects. This includes bridge inspections, load ratings, and the administration of project schedules.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the development of project plans, reports, permits, specifications, and cost estimates for projects such as bridges, utility adjustments, stream transitions, retaining walls, drainage structures, earth stabilization mitigation improvements, rockslide mitigation, and other concrete, steel, and timber structures.
- Coordinate and oversee the development of bridge inspection reports and load ratings for bridge inspection projects.
- Maintain project administration by monitoring the project schedule, reviewing consultant invoices, and preparing contract amendments as necessary.
Requirements
Regular hours anticipated but may require evening, weekend, or holiday work to accommodate emergency situations.
Qualifications
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment. Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty. One year of registered professional structural engineering experience. Possession of a valid license as a professional structural engineer in the State of Hawaii. Applicants with a current out-of-state professional structural engineer license must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment. Valid Hawaii State driver's license (Type 3/automobile), as required.
