Structural Engineer (Retail Facilities)

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to & lead structural design efforts for retail projects from early concepts through final construction documents.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and coordination with architects, contractors, owners, and internal engineering staff.
• Oversee analysis and design of structural systems utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Conduct site visits, review shop drawings, and provide construction-phase support.
• Prepare proposals, assist with scope development, and contribute to client relationship management.
• Ensure deliverables meet internal quality standards and industry codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
• 6+ years of experience in structural design of diverse building structures & at least 3 years of experience in retail structures.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or the ability to obtain reciprocity.
• Proficiency with structural design and analysis software (e.g., RAM, RISA, STAAD, or similar).
• Strong understanding of building codes and material design standards.
• Demonstrated project management experience or strong interest in advancing into a lead role.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams.
• Able to balance multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
