About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Structural Engineer in Training with at least three years of professional experience to join our growing team in Sacramento, CA. You will design, analyze, and oversee structural systems for a diverse range of commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects. Working closely with architects, contractors, and project managers, you will deliver safe, efficient, and code-compliant structural solutions that clients can count on.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design calculations using industry-standard software and methodologies
- Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation in compliance with applicable building codes and standards
- Conduct site assessments and evaluations to identify structural requirements and potential challenges
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to ensure project coordination and successful execution
- Review and evaluate construction documents, shop drawings, and submittals for structural compliance
- Provide technical support during construction administration and resolve on-site structural issues
- Optimize structural designs for cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and constructability
- Keep project files and documentation organized and audit-ready
- Keep pace with evolving building codes, industry standards, and best practices, and bring that knowledge into your daily work
- Present technical findings and recommendations clearly to clients, team members, and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred
- EIT certification required
- PE certification obtained or actively in progress
- At least three years of relevant full-time experience in structural engineering design
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAP2000)
- Solid understanding of structural engineering principles, mechanics, and materials
- Knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for clear project documentation and collaboration
- Comfortable owning your work independently while actively engaging as a collaborative team member
Additional Information
- Physical Demands and Work Environment: Regular desk work and occasional site visits, which may involve climbing ladders, navigating uneven terrain, and light lifting (up to 15 lbs).

Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation: Competitive base salary ranging from $75,000 - $100,000, determined by experience, education, and skills. Performance-based bonuses recognized for outstanding contributions.
