Job Responsibilities

  • Lead a client/client team (1-5 staff), small to medium projects, or portions of a large project utilizing their experience and education in structural analysis and structural design using concrete, steel, wood, cold formed steel and masonry.
  • Have a strong understanding of how buildings are constructed.
  • Have a good understanding of structural software programs, such as RAM Structural Systems, Enercalc, RAM Element, RAM Concept and apply the output to the design of the project.
  • Work in an independent manner on several projects and/or building types with minimal supervision from a more Senior Engineer or Designer.
  • Communicate effectively to be seen as highly knowledgeable and/or an expert when discussing design challenges or projects, both internally and externally.

Job Duties

  • Be proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Train employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and technical questions.
  • Collaborate with Architects and other Engineers to develop construction documents based on a client's requirements, including most project management and construction administration functions.
  • Perform a high-level of quality control of their projects and others, for final review by Engineer of Record.
  • Establish project budgets, with the approval of Structural Team Lead, and work with Team Lead to ensure those projects are financially successful, unless in a strictly technical role for the company.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record, with approval from Director or Executive, on simple projects or roll-out clients.
  • Write specifications for most project types.

Qualifications

  • Management Requirements: 0-5 staff
  • Education Requirements: Minimum BSCE/BSAE from an Abet Accredited Engineering Program. MSCE Preferred.
  • Licensure Requirements: Licensed Professional Engineer
