About the role
We are seeking an adaptive and thoughtful Structural Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join our growing Nashville team. This role offers the opportunity to build a meaningful career close to home while contributing to innovative structural engineering projects across the country. You will contribute to structural engineering projects from concept through construction while continuing to grow as a licensed professional. You will work with experienced engineers, BIM professionals, and clients, with mentorship and career support from KPFF’s engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of structural engineering projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building types and materials
- Collaborate with clients to understand project goals and maintain clear, consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle
- Participate in feasibility studies, site investigations, and structural assessments, as needed
- Prepare, review, and coordinate engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports in accordance with applicable building codes
- Monitor project progress, identify risks or challenges, and implement mitigation strategies to support successful outcomes

- Promote compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while fostering a culture of safety
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum 4 years of structural engineering design experience (project management experience is a plus)
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, RAM Structural System, RISA‑3D, or similar
- Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC)
- Experience with BIM software such as Revit
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
