About the role
Hazen & Sawyer is seeking a talented early career Structural Engineer for our Charlotte, NC office. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across different areas and disciplines in our industry.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with senior level structural engineering team providing mentoring opportunities to learn and develop
- Full structural design based on governing building codes and design standards
- Performing construction management tasks such as shop drawings reviews, responding to RFIs, and field inspections
- Writing technical reports and assist in the development of drawings and specifications for construction
- Communicate and work effectively in multi-discipline team environment
- Participate in fieldwork, site visits (in-state) and potential client meetings; capable of walking around outdoors in the Southeastern climate
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering (MS Preferred)
- Have EIT or in progress of taking the FE
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit, and/or other software
- Experience or coursework in reinforced concrete, steel, and reinforced masonry
- Strong written & verbal communication skills - must be effective communicators and successfully work in multi-discipline team environment
- Ability to work independently and in group settings
- Self-starter
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel

- Structural degree concentration
- Experience in cross-disciplinary teamwork
