About the role

Hazen & Sawyer is seeking a talented early career Structural Engineer for our Charlotte, NC office. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across different areas and disciplines in our industry.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with senior level structural engineering team providing mentoring opportunities to learn and develop
  • Full structural design based on governing building codes and design standards
  • Performing construction management tasks such as shop drawings reviews, responding to RFIs, and field inspections
  • Writing technical reports and assist in the development of drawings and specifications for construction
  • Communicate and work effectively in multi-discipline team environment
  • Participate in fieldwork, site visits (in-state) and potential client meetings; capable of walking around outdoors in the Southeastern climate

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering (MS Preferred)
  • Have EIT or in progress of taking the FE
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit, and/or other software
  • Experience or coursework in reinforced concrete, steel, and reinforced masonry
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills - must be effective communicators and successfully work in multi-discipline team environment
  • Ability to work independently and in group settings
  • Self-starter
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel

Qualifications

  • Structural degree concentration
  • Experience in cross-disciplinary teamwork

Starting pay range for this position depends on skills, experience, education and geographical location
