Structural Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Structural Engineer with 0-5 years of experience to join our New Parking Design team in Indianapolis, IN. This role will work on a variety of parking structure design projects, mixed use facilities, and pedestrian bridges. A structural engineering background is required, and previous experience with parking design is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project design, production of reports, specifications, and drawings.
• Perform project structural engineering analysis and design.
• Absorb and contribute to the design team, including project design, production of drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
• Absorb and contribute to the design team during the design and construction process, assisting with client coordination.
• Absorb and contribute to the design team during the bidding phase, including pre-bid meetings, addenda, bid evaluations, review of alternates and substitutions.
• Absorb and contribute to the design team during the construction administration phase, including preconstruction meetings, construction review, project meetings, test report overview, project close-out, etc.

Requirements

• B.S.C.E. in Civil Engineering required, M.S.C.E. preferred.
• E.I.T. license required, P.E. license preferred.
• 0-5 years’ experience in structural engineering.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Experience with finite element modeling software (SAP 2000, RISA 3D, Tekla).
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Related work experience with parking structures is preferred, but not required.
• Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to travel occasionally in the field.
• Previous experience with construction administration is preferred but not required.
