Structural Engineer
About the Role
This position is for a professional engineer who applies advanced and diversified knowledge of engineering principles across a broad range of assignments, making independent decisions on technical problems and methods. The Project Manager utilizes and adapts advanced techniques, interprets client needs from limited information, resolves project-related issues, and builds strong client relationships. This role reports to the Department Manager in Appleton, WI, supports business development efforts, and mentors early-career engineers on the structural team.
Design experience in a wide range of building project types (commercial, educational, health care, residential, and industrial) is required, with much of the work focused on the commercial sector. This hybrid position can be based in either the Appleton or Wauwatosa offices. The level of experience can range from Project Engineer to Senior Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manages and coordinates multiple projects or large projects with moderate complexity, ensuring successful delivery of scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Develops project plans, scope, and criteria, and oversees execution by project teams.
- Performs construction administration activities and supports project delivery through all phases.
- Maintains client relationships and supports business development efforts, including networking and use of CRM/tools.
- Prepares fee proposals and supports pursuit efforts with Department Manager guidance.
- Supports development of junior engineers and designers through day-to-day guidance and training.
- Monitors project financial performance, including budget tracking and coordination on receivables.
- Conducts existing condition evaluations and prepares technical reports.
- Ensures compliance with design safety standards and company expectations.

Requirements
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- 4-15 years of engineering experience, with commercial or industrial building experience.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple office locations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing multiple projects of varying sizes and complexity.
- Familiarity with construction administration and project delivery processes.
- Exposure to client interaction and supporting business development efforts.
- Ability to support and guide junior engineers and designers.
Pay
Salary range of $110,000 - $185,000, depending on experience.
