About the role

Join a team that applies experimental and computational methods to develop best-in-class Trane Commercial HVAC products and enabling technologies while addressing acoustic, structural & vibration challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and carry out the advancement of the Acoustics & Mechanics Engineering function.
  • Plan, conduct, and supervise work related to developing structural and structural dynamic simulation models.
  • Plan, conduct, and supervise various structural and structural dynamic tests, including but not limited to, structural modal analysis, steady state and transient vibration, rotating machinery, strength tests, component fatigue, data collection and analysis.
  • Correlate simulation or any other prediction models with test data to improve prediction accuracy and validate models.
  • Develop and improve standard work and design guidelines related to, but not limited to, structural design, simulation, testing, and similar work.
  • Work closely with product engineers to design reliable and durable products.
  • Work closely with test engineers and technicians.
  • Support and successfully accomplish annual corporate objectives for individuals and teams.
  • Effectively utilize personal project management techniques and utilize the available technical skills and resources necessary for success.
  • Work closely with and mentor other engineering resources globally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) and at least 2-years of work experience in structural dynamics is required.
  • Master's Degree is a plus.

Skills

  • Formal coursework in mechanics of materials, vibration, structural dynamics, numerical simulation methods, digital signal processing is expected.
  • Experience with ANSYS, Siemens SimCenter or Siemens Test.Lab is a plus.
  • Experience in structural engineering design, technical problem-solving with simulation and tests.
  • Knowledge in the design, testing, and optimization for dynamics of machinery.
  • Knowledge and experience in correlating simulation models and test data are a plus.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, communication and project management skills required.
  • Experience in data acquisition systems, both hardware and software, as well as mechanical strain measurement, are preferred.
  • Experience with HVAC products, compressors, fans and sheet metal structures is a plus.

Pay

$84,740.00 - $118,860.00 Annual Base Salary Range

Schedule

Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.
