Structural Designer (Entry level/early career professional)

Job Responsibilities And Duties

• Performs basic design tasks with oversight
• Basic understanding of technical writing skills
• Clear internal communications (emails, meeting minutes, etc.)
• Works on structural design teams performing simple tasks with oversight
• Prepares quantity calculations
• Prepares structural calculations with oversight
• Edits boilerplate special provisions
• Develops contract plans and cost estimates with oversight
• Understands budget and schedule basics for simple tasks
• Has basic understanding of industry standards and regulations
• Performs requested tasks with oversight
• Sets up for external communications with oversight

Education And/or Experience

• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
• No years of experience required
• EIT/EI required (within 6 months of hire)

Physical Demands And Work Environment

• Sit regularly
• Talk and hear frequently
• Stand and walk as needed
• Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Use hands to handle objects
• Close vision and ability to adjust focus required
• Periodic site visits and inspection work on project sites
