Structural Designer

Individual should have two (2) plus years of civil/structural design experience in an engineering consulting company, industrial, manufacturing or oil & gas company. Employee may be required to go out into the field to clarify client requirements. Responsibilities Perform technical responsibilities required of a Structural DesignerBe eager and open to gaining structural experience from department colleaguesPerform field walkdowns without assistance with a project teamProactively coordinate project activities between Structural and other disciplinesCreate and review project structural deliverablesMentor less experienced designers and techniciansAssist with Scope Development and help maintain Budget Control for the CAD team on projectsDemonstrate expertise with Valdes' structural engineering work practicesDemonstrate expertise in using Revit and Navisworks in 3D modelingPrepare structural scopes of work and material take-offsDevelop a refined understanding of construction drawings such as Plans, Sections, Details, and Piping IsometricsContinue to develop expertise with prevalent structural industry codes, standards, and practices from a drawing perspective (i.e., AISC, ACI)Detail both concrete and steel connectionsEffectively support CAD efforts outside of CSA when necessaryPerform and support CAD audits Qualifications Education: High School diploma, Associated Degree or higher preferredExperience: 2+ years of experience working in the design or drafting fieldDemonstrate technical competencies required of a Structural DesignerDetail both concrete and steel connectionsSkillful 2D and 3D CAD expertiseBasic Microsoft Office skillsRevit experience a plusNavisworks experience is a plusMust possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skillsMust be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future $58,000 - $110,000 a year Salaries for all positions are based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, total years of experience in the industry, education, skills, and qualifications.
