About the role

This role is part of Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE), supporting Blue Origin’s mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design of mechanical structures for various payload and cargo systems.
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact for cargo customers, translating their needs into actionable design requirements.
  • Perform detailed structural analysis (FEA) and create engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, integration, and test teams to ensure a seamless transition from design to production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in structural design and analysis.
  • Direct experience with the design of payload integration systems or similar structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a customer-facing role.
  • Proficiency in CAD and FEA software (CREO desired).
  • TS/SCI Clearance or ability to attain TS/SCI (preferred).

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (preferred).
  • Experience leading design teams or mentoring junior engineers (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with structural testing and data correlation (preferred).

  • Proficiency in CAD and FEA software.

Pay

Compensation range for CA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20; for CO applicants is $133,500.00 - $186,898.95; for WA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20; other site ranges may differ.

Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical.
