Structural (Bridge) Engineer

About the role

The successful candidate will be part of a team designing simple and complex bridges (primarily concrete and steel construction) and a variety of transportation related structures (retaining walls, culverts, and other ancillary structures).

Responsibilities

• Develop Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) packages for structural and bridge engineering projects.
• Collaborate with a team to design and develop innovative solutions for challenging projects.
• Work on a range of projects, from simple to complex, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Contribute to the delivery of important infrastructure projects for clients and help them solve their most challenging problems.

Requirements

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural engineering required; M.S. preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience working on structural and bridge engineering projects.
• Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred or ability to obtain within 1-2 years.
• Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications; experience with VDOT and/or MD SHA standards preferred.
• Knowledge of OpenBridge Designer, Leap Bridge Concrete, CSiBridge, and/or similar analysis programs preferred.
• Proficiency using CADD (Microstation preferred).
• Strong written and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills and desire to deliver the highest quality projects to our clients.
• Desire to work in a team environment.

Pay

The projected range for this position is $86,000 - $111,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
